As useful as it was for preventing spam from showing up for everyone, it was also an annoyance for legitimate new members.

Not mine, but I understand why it was done. If pre mod is deterring new members it may not be worth the benefit.

Also, there's already enough forum moderators at this forum to handle any spam from a spammer.

This is best to enable once the forum is active but lacks reliable staff members,

95% of the moderation work on this forum is done by Chris, and has been so since I joined. :/
