Alaister recently posted a request for people to offer suggestions about how to integrate the contest forum with our current graphic design contest forum. I presented suggestions for improving the existing forums, based on recommendations made in that forum, but soon discovered my login here does not work on the rest of the Freelancer sites. So, not knowing the setup there, I can't really make any recommendations about integrating features.

I thought single sign-in was already done? I'm not creating another separate account; I thought we long-termers had already been welcomed into the "family" anyway. Oh, well, now I see that the contest site is down as well.

I don't know how it's done, I do remember a big deal being made about single sign in, but maybe that was for Freelancer members signing in here.

I keep saying, it's little things like this that make a big difference in how things look, and those little things add up. The look of this is that we common folk aren't allowed in the big house. Once you add in the fact, as Steve pointed out, that staff haven't been effective at communicating with us "commoners", the perception is amplified.

After all, in a forum a suggestion bin requires dialogue; it's not like the suggestion box at work that makes a peculiar shredding sound when you put the paper in the slot.

I know a few changes have been made. To many, from what I've heard "through the grapevine", is that they've been too little and too late, certainly not at the rate of sweeping changes that scared some off to begin with. They have been good changes, but I can certainly see that to some that a few got made and then just stopped.

I'm signing in automatically every time I'm here. So do you believe that could be a kind of problem here?

Hi serandfae,

We have implemented single sign-on, however there are a few caveats.

I have checked your freelancer account and it seems you have never logged in. You can go to http://www.freelancer.com/users/forgot.php to reset your password. Your freelancer username is serandfae and the email address is the same as you have registered for the forum.

Once you have a freelancer username and password you can log back into the forum using the "Login via Freelancer.com" button.

If you have any issues please let me know.

OK, I reset it. Yes, I'm sure it said I never logged in; I attempted to several times but my username and password for here were rejected.

If others using their information from Webmaster-Talk/Tycoon Talk are going to have that trouble logging on to Freelancer, would it not make sense to let them know that somewhere here? Not to mention telling us what these "caveats" are?

Communication, ease of use, those rules have not changed in some time.
