You know you should be using a permanent redirect (HTTP 301 response) for these URIs not a 302.

Using a 302 redirection from http://www.example.com/ to http://www.example.com/special-action/index.htm, means that, although the page is temporarily redirected to the special action promotional page, the preferred address to be used in the future remains http://www.example.com/. 302 redirects should be used for temporary redirection.

To be correct, in HTTP/1.1 which is the current protocol standard, a 302 RESPONSE CODE indicates to the user agent that the page can be FOUND at a different location to the one that was requested.

In HTTP/1.1 a temporary redirect is indicated by a response status code of 307.
