Hi...

I suprisingly do not find a suitable forum to discuss about website content here.

Isn't 'Content' not an important topic for this forum?

Content is extremely important! How about starting a discussion right here?

Ok, how about content. Where do you all get your ideas and where do you actually get your content from?

When I design a site for a client, I have to research a particular subject until I get versed with it and am able to develop copy that suits the site. (yeah, my wife calls me the human sponge)

i write most of my content but i also give the option for my users to contribute. I guess it depends on the type of site you have.

Content is very important... Your website will not be appreciated if the content is not good or does not suit the theme of the website. It is the substance of the website, so it must be in proper font and layout, and it must be relevant to the theme of the site...

To answer the original question:

Most people start a website with a very clear idea of what they want to put on a site so they don't really need to discuss it. Content differs so vastly from site to site that there is not a great deal of help and advice one webmaster can give to another, which is the primary aim of most of these forums.

I do think that there is a place to talk about content but it is in threads like these rather than in a seperate forum topic.

And yes content is vital as it influence how much repeat traffic you have and the density for your key words, (which in turn affects your ranking for key words.)

My opinion is that you need to know what you are talking about when starting a site. If it's for a client, make sure you get the details you need. Content is indeed important. It can make a distinction between sites, prove the quality you have, make search engines love you ...

This is one of the most important aspects in a site. Having a good layout, a good SEO job and a great content ... and you are king. I have made an article about the way to ensure a good content.

I'll post the link if I'm allowed.

We actually used to have a content forum, but it was not busy enough.

You can place these types of questions in our Web Design All The Rest forum...
