i see the new posts in front of the forum names when i come on WT, then i click "New Posts" and read every single one, yet when i go back to the main page (using the breadcrumb, and it's not the cache), i can still see them as new posts. when i click on the forum and enter it, no new threads.

second. i reply to something and when i come back to the main page the formerly "no new posts" icon in front of the forum turns to "new posts". in the forum, the only new post there is (and is not marked as new post in the forum view) is mine.

should it be that way? it's kinda confusing

so far, my conclusion is that you have to read all threads that are marked as having new posts AND view the forums for the "no new posts" to appear.

i went out for an hour and when i came back and clicked "new posts" i got this here,.

the red stuff was edited by me, also the circle showing the thread that appears unread even if i posted it and nobody even viewed. also i made a sign with posts that i made, which should not show as unred imo.

i'm going to try IE praveen, as for mozilla, i am using the last version available (mozilla firefox - since i forgot to mention).

EDIT:

my first post is still valid in IE (up2date).
the problem in the printscreen i can't tell yet.

ok, that worked...

but i don't exactly know why.
i mean if i see them as read before closing the browser should they not stay that afetr reopening?
and plus, in firefox i set it to 1kb of cache ...
i'll check back later if this changes once more

off-topic:
check these two:

i'm sure you'll get what i'm saying :P

and also, if you have the time check a thread of mine in the confidential area, maybe you know an answer or two.

vBulletin doesn't have the best post-marking system to begin with (which is one reason why I'm quite excited for the next release! Waaay better system). Right now it goes by your activity. A user session lasts 30 minutes, so all posts from before the user became active will be "new" until the user is inactive for 30 minutes or more.

So to mark threads as read, either click the "Mark This Forum Read" link in the Forum Tools dropdown to mark a specific forum read, or click the "Mark Forums Read" link on the side to mark everything as read. If you are inactive for 30 minutes, everything will be marked read automatically.

That counts for all posts But when reading single threads, after you've read every new thread, the forum should appear as "No New Posts". I believe there is a limitation where you must return to the forum listing after reading a thread for it to "count" as a real read. So if you read all threads, return to the forum thread listing after each one, then return to the main page -- that forum should be marked as read.

Are you referring to the logo (or lack thereof )? Yes, it seems the image path is wrong. On my to-do list as well

I'll have you know, since you've come back my To-do list has grown quite a bit
