Kirtan I think the same things sometimes. As a kid most people assumed I would do something with computers, but I didn't have any interest then. The sad thing is when I was going to college most of what you see now in computing didn't exist. I probably could have gotten in on the ground floor of a lot of great ideas.
Dan I'm going to agree a little with your tutor. It is good to get out and get some exercise. I love spending my time in front of the computer, but I know there are other things out there that are good for me too.
Once the weather gets a little nicer I'll be playing softball every week or even twice a week. I'll also get out on my bike for a ride around town. Maybe even walk to the grocery store instead of driving.
The body and mind are connected and it's good to keep both in shape.

As much as I'd like to tell you I have a 6-pack I guess I'd have to say a bit of a spare tire that seems to come with age. Hopefully once I can get out on my bike again regularly I can let all the air out of it.
I'd like to believe a 6-pack is underneath, but I'm pretty sure it's not there.

Usually starting around April/May or whenever the snow stops here I build up to a routine where I take my bike out three times a week and do maybe a 15 mile loop around the north half of Boulder. There are lots of bike paths and trails around here. Takes me about an hour to complete the ride and the last 10-15 minutes are all up hill to get back to my apartment.
Sometime in March I should be playing softball again every week.
I'll do both till October or so.

me... when i have designed, produced and own a portible computer which is controlled by thought then i might think about going out... just kiddin'
i just cant be botherd, if i go out wid mates its just sittin there going were bored lol.
and of course usually all money is in my PC
so usually ii think it pointless...
at least on the computer i am learning skills which when i own my own webhosting company (or similar) i will use everyday.
To me thats logic... then again my logic doesnt appear logical to most...
Dan

Physical exercise is good too though. For me the ride is very meditative. To keep pedaling in rhythm I count out rhythms in my head. A lot of 1-2-3-4 and 1 and 2 and 3 and 4. I play around with different rhythms as though I was writing music.
The whole thing helps clear my mind for the day's work and I find I end up being more productive on days I ride.
Time spent on the computer can definitely improve skills, but so can a lot of seemingly unrelated things.

I'll join back in the conversation.
Dan - I've read all of Dan Brown's books and enjoyed all of them. I've also read all Stephen King, Ann Rice & JD Robb books, along with countless other authors. One of my favorite things to do when not on the computer is read - even when I go work out, or standing in line at the store. No 6 pack here though - two teenage kids, full-time (plus) job, my own business, hubby, hubby's own business and currently 4 committees at my church and teaching Sunday School has made it kind of difficult to get into a routine of going to the local Y enough.

man... i hope i dont have that much when i older...
i would prefer just running a [hopefully extremally millionaire making] buisiness, from home while enjoying 1000's of £ worth or gadgets and home entertainment all installed by myself of course! [ i may be a millionaire but please, the cost is so not worth it when i can do it!]
Im so suprised someone as talkative, dosent have more talkuption... or maybe its just because i say the wrong thing to some people...
On a post once someone took 10 off me and another gave me 2 for the same thing!... lol

Dan you'll be surprised about how much the things you want or think you want change as you get older. It happens to everyone. The experience that comes with age makes you see things in different ways and re-evaluate a lot of things that seem really important. Other things take on more importance.
I'm not saying you forget everything or completely change your mind about things, but you'll find you have different priorities.
