Why getdaily rather than getnew?

I noticed when the design was changed you guy's switched from using search.php?getnew to search.php?getdaily (in the quick links above). I can only imagine the reasoning for this was to lessen server load however I'm not positive so I thought I would ask. I got really used to getnew and enjoy seeing the very latest threads started or responses, etc.

So did I I actually went into the templates before noticing the other link

I've actually been meaning to create a separate 'Find Posts' kind of dropdown, with links to searches for last getdaily, getnew and then last 24 hours, last week, my posts, replyless posts etc.
