Hi, I'm new to this forum. When you earn talkputation, does that entitle you "buy things" like banner ads space or it is just for display to show status?

It's just there as a way to show others who has intelligent, worthwhile things to say and who doesn't...or who hasn't shown that they have things to say yet.

It's not the most accurate measure in the world, but it's a fairly good one on this board.

I was wondering how that worked, too. Thanks for asking this question.

I went from 10 karma points to 93 karma points and have only been here about 4 days so I thought they increased with the amount of post counts.

Then today I saw the little section in the control panel that lists members that have given you points and why. I've been given points by 4 members (thanks guys).

Adam, I didn't have this "Trader" link yesterday either, but it's there today. What is this connected to and why do I have it?

"Trader" link? I'm thinking that's the iTrader thing or whatever it's called. I don't know much about that myself (never used it).

DaveMo? Schroeder? Christopher? L'il help?

iTrader is mainly used for the graphic design forum or any other forum that you might sell, trade or barter. It is a bit like eBays feedback system so that members here can get a good idea whether a particular person is worth doing business with.
