Tim, you are absolutely correct with your blogpost:
http://www.webmaster-talk.com/blog/3...lk-blog-update

I was a blog writer for you and wrote a few lengthy, original blog entries for your blog, and I was furious that a lot of the things that were promised were never done.

Quote:
"a few Webmaster-Talk members to help contribute articles but didn’t finish adding their profile pages etc so they understandably have not been submitting more articles.."
There were also a few promises that were not kept. I believe one of them was also a link, I believe it was to be placed at the footer of this forum?

The promises were not met, and thus I stopped writing.

I think I can take credit too for some of the success of your blog's PageRank. I put the blog's RSS feed in every other webmaster forum's latest blog entry feature, including popular Digital Point. I have over 4,000 posts there...I just recently took the RSS feed off. I even have it up at v7n.

Let me just say that I am very disappointed with how the blog came...I thought it was going to be a fun thing that would also help benefit us the writers, but it didn't at all. Instead I put my time in writing and even gave a lot of heavy links to it for what?

King Justice,

I'm sorry and I understand your frustration.

I never mentioned or promised a link from the footer of Webmaster-Talk.com but other things were discussed such as a profile page on the blog, and possible Adshare setup.

It's difficult coming up with a solution that will work in the long term. For example, I can put a direct link to your website in the sidebar of all blog pages for active authors, put if an author later becomes inactive for months at a time, I should not have to leave the link there permanently IMO.

I still think the blog has a huge amount of potential and really do want to get the ball rolling on it again. I've been overwhelmed with both online and offline issues.

For now, please PM me your anchor text and URL and I'll put you on every page of the sidebar.

Well what is this eMonetized blog you have? You can only see the success of one...you cannot work on two webmaster blogs at the same time! It's impossible.

My other new blog is more along the lines of making money online while Webmaster-Talk would have a much broader subject matter.

Now that I have the other blog, I probably would not be writing to the WT blog very often. This is why I started recruiting writers in the first place although it was before I even knew I was going to start another blog.

Keeping the WT blog would still be very beneficial to myself and the writers. Putting a blog on the WT domain has a lot of advantages. The forums already have nice traffic and generally, the posts rank well in the search engines.

Like I mentioned, I should not have started the WT blog until I had everything completely ready to go, including ads setup for the writers.

I'm going to have to come up with a new game plan and probably find some new writers. I also will have to come up with a workable solution to offer the writers.

For example, maybe offering a link from all pages of the sidebar provided the author is active and makes at least 5 new posts each month. In addition, writers could include a line at the end of each post saying something like "Post by King Justice of http://Your123Site.com"

That way if the author becomes inactive, I would eventually drop the sidebar link but the link to their website within each of their posts would permanently stay.

Does that seem like a fair solution?

By the way, if you don't want to write to the blog anymore, I understand. But I'm still offering the link in the sidebar for a few months if you wanted it.

Now that is a smart idea. But will you actually implement this one?
I will write...but I am not going to write until these implementations are actually done.

I will. However, I am going to be away for a week (leaving tomorrow). When I return, I'll get everything setup. I won't just accept any author and will probably keep it somewhere around 5 quality writers.
