If you look at this thread, I'm the only person helping this poor guy out. I've probably worked 50/50 in asp 3 and .net, so I'm comfortable in either. But most of the brighter people on this site who use Microsoft server technology use asp classic.
In some ways the two are very different, and answers to a lot of questions will depend on the platform. But then just as much is static across both languages; after all they're both Microsoft server programming technologies, and a lot of design patterns can be implemented in either.
Ultimately it does make a lot of sense to have two different forums, but the .net version is a ghost town, and even though I'm pretty good at it, people deserve a second opinion when I'm wrong. As rare as that is.
