The new facility in Northlake, Ill. may cost more than $500 million and is expected to span 440,000 square feet. Microsoft opened a 470,000 square foot data center in Quincy, Washington earlier this year, and is building a similar facility in San Antonio. Microsoft has also submitted plans for a $500 million data center campus in Dublin, Ireland."Read more of this story at Slashdot. </img>
The funny thing is that a data center which costs Microsoft $500 Million would cost Dell or HP $850 Million. Microsoft doesn't have to pay Microsoft licensing fees for Windows Server components.
