Making rash statements like that brings web traffic, whether they're true or not. It's the "Howard Stern" principal.
But this one is wrong. Think about supply and effect. If the UK feels computer programming is becoming less attractive as a long-term career path, you'll see less interest in classes, then less classes, then after a few years less supply of British programmers, and salaries will go up until people take more interest, and start filling classes again...
