Hello everyone.
Here in the tiny, flat land of Holland we have a large site/company updating us with the latest technology news.
I thought I'd share the great/good things with you in my 'Technology Update' .

Note: Don't pay attention to any typos!

Here's the first:

Project Epoc:
Emotiv systems has made a big step forward with mind controlled gaming.
They are currently developping Project Epoc a large project for which they got 1.5 million Australion Dollars financial support from the goverment.
There has yet been a lot of research to this subject but not ever has a company been so close.
Hitachi predicted that 'Mind Control' would be introduced to gaming within five years.

Microsoft: Beginner Developer Learning Center

Microsoft has started a website for the beginning programmer.
This website contains 45 lessons and 31 how-to video's for Visual Studio 2005 Express Edition. A free edition of Visual Studio 2005 with, of course, less functionality.
With this site and Microsoft's Express Editions, they want to make an alternative for things as LAMP or the Ruby-on-Rails development kit.

!! Improtant! This article is about hacks of Windows Vista. It doesn't include a method how to! If this post is still to rsiky, please delete it! !!

Windows Vista: OEM-Version activation via Bios-hack

Windows Vista OEM-Versions have a method implanted for PC-Builders called 'OEM Activation for Windows Vista'.
This method allows for activation without connecting to the Windows authentication servers. This is a very nice feature for stores that build their own computers. They can attach Vista to the hardware inside the computer and so install it on only one computer. Just as Microsoft wanted.

It's taken just under a month for the hackers to figure out how this system works.
They can now, with hacked BIOS, pretend to the Vista OEM version that activation isn't any longer necessary.
Of course this is a dangerous operation since you will have to flash your BIOS. If you don't do it right the whole motherboard could be broken.
The list of hacked BIOS'es is already immense and is still growing.

Update: It is now possible to install a boot loader which emulates a hacked BIOS. This way is much safer and has the same result.
