Hello - I am new to creating databases. Ive searched endlessley for tutorials on setting them up. I am still unsure how it all works.

What I do understand is that you need something such as MySQL, and or microsoft access. I have gotten as far as creating a table in access. I have no idea what to do after this.

I am trying to create a database simply for member login to a secure page.

If someone could kindly give me some information on what I am suppose to do with creating a database, it would be kindly appreciated!

Thanks

John the first thing we would need to know is what OS is on your server, which leads to what server side language you'll likely use. Chances are your server is going to be Apache and the server side language will be PHP, but it doesn't have to be. Access is going to be different than the database you'll interact with on a server. Are you looking to work on a server or are you wanting to learn more about using databases by working on your own computer. If you can provide a little more detail I'm sure you can point you in the right direction.
