I am undergoing proposal for thesis in computer system majoring in information system. I have to choose a suitable topic for this thesis especially in database. what is/are you recommend in database field?

example such : database encryption using cryptography

any one else? any idea?

like in web programming, development, etc..

Depends on what you know most about.

"database encryption using cryptography"

that sounds good.

Then discuss holes in security and how people are doing what they an to steal your information; and how security experts are always trying to outsmart the hackers.

Discuss the people involved, and I think you may be able to take your otherwise average paper to an outstanding paper.

That is, of course, unless your teacher wants it to be strictly about THE CODE and PROCESSES versus a kind of open-ended thoughttful, all-encompassing document on the idea behind those elements, their relation with one to another, And the future of such relationships concerning The People Involved.

the main idea is to show the process... i will conduct this thesis for about a semester.. how about Smart Searching in database, the technique that use to save a time for searching in database by comparison... but know i heard that there is a system for searching that can look up our result according to who we are... for example a student that search for book, then the system only appear educational book in the database... thanks Lashtal Christ, i am prefer for web programming... but the lecturer seems dont like the idea for me to build an online timetable for student... since the database is the property of this university...

I really suggest you find a good book about databases (the science of it that is). There's on-going research with databases that has been going on since the 80s about how to improve the performance of databases. For every solution they find, there's an equal drawback. It's a very hot topic and I think it would match closer to a thesis than encryption in a database...

that one will be on research...

can you suggest the topic for example...
is it such "the evolution of database in the new era"

i am still searching the topic for this thesis...

in my mind now is : "security system for online transaction using ASP.NET" - like paypal, online bank.. where confidential data need to be keep safe...
