I downloaded xampp for linux when i got done setting that up i went to my phpmyadmin page and was going to make a test database, when i looked their were already databases in it, below are the databases.

cdcol (1)
information_schema (28)
mysql (23)
phpmyadmin (8)
test

Now when i used wamp i seen information_schema (28) and mysql (23) but i never seen the other databases before and i am wondering if they are supposed to be their? Because this is the first time that i have used xampp.

The other DBs go with some of the programs that are on the root index page (same as where you load phpmyadmin) Some of them will no longer work if you add a password to mysql. No big losses there.

You force them to work again by changing the password in their config files.

So they are normal with xampp? and can i delete the databases below without having a problem or do i need to keep them?

No need to do so.

The reason that i wanted to delete them is because if they were useless databases their is no reason for them to be their.

So does anyone know if these database are normal in xampp? because i need to know if their is something wrong with my phpmyadmin installation.

Just in case anyone was looking for an answer to this, you can delete the cdcol(1) and test databases the rest you need.
