I have a site that has visitors from many countrys ( In this case hungary )

I used to use latin_swedish, but have changed to utf8_unicode_ci in my MYSQL

Does utf8_unicode_ci support more chars and is best to use for multilingual ?

Ah ok,
I do have a problem though with PHP and recieveing text that has a strange char in it.

if i send it this word for instance " Kedvezmény " It wont pick it up and things its value is null because of the é

How can i get PHP to just allow this type of char into a $var?

Looks like ive fixed most of my issues
I was using mysql_real_escape_string as well as a much of other char checking.
Ive removed some of my other char checking and thats fixed the issue.

real_escape should take care of the bad stuff in mysql hopefully?
