Current Setup:
  • Access Database
  • Multiple Tables

I am making a directory of links, each catogrey of links has its own table within the database.

All the links are showing correctly, however is there away to create an .asp page that displays all the tables currently in the database and how many records that table contains.

As I say each set of links is in a different table within the same database, tables are all called tlblinks_name.

Not sure how to get all the table names off the top of my head, but you can count records using COUNT in SQL:
SELECT Count(*) FROM TableName WHERE FieldName=Value

Why seperate the categories into different tables? Why not just have an extra column in the table called 'Category'? You could then get the categories by either putting a list of available categories in a different table and relating them by ID, or with SQL:
SELECT DISTINCT(Category) FROM TableName

I would but them all in one table but prefer to have seprate ones makes it far eaiser to maintain, better to have several tabels with 10-20 enteries than 1 with hundres of enteies.

I tried that Case code and got an error Expected 'Case'
