I plan to acquire a DB for use with an existing set of of scripts. I do not want to modify the scripts.

The new DB contains 4 fields. Three of which should be 100% compatiable with fields I already have in an existing DB. One field, catergory is a text field in the new DB and and int10 in the existing DB. There are about 14,000 records in the new DB.

I can acquire the new DB in any of the following formats: The DB is available in the MS Access 2000, MS Access 97, MySQL Dump, MS
Excel (Excel has a 63,000 row limit), MS SQL Server 2000 and Delimited File set.

I have Access and Excel 2002 but am not real experieced with either.

Which format and how to proceed are my questions.

depends on the scripts and your existing db.
You will have to modify the scripts at some point as it is highly unlikely that the new DB location and user/pass will match existing.

MS Sql would be the best to use with access a poor second

Sorry. I worded that poorly. My goal is to get the new data into an existing mysql DB. I would only use access or excel if needed to replace the text field with a numeric one. The loss of existing data in the current DB is not a problem but I can't import it direct from a dump file because of the field mismatch.
