Hi. I have a database backup which is 150 mb. My host only allows a max of 100 mb in a MYSQL database. What are my options to resotre my old database (IPB forums) to my new host? I don't want to loose 10,000 members..

get more space for the database, or a different host of course.

other than that you have to lose something, then what happens when it grows again (as it will)

No, you can't split you database into two, not without some major recoding of IPB. As chrishirst stated, you will need to ask your current host if you can upgrade Mysql space or find a new host that meets your requirements.

Splitting your database is a short term band-aid, you need a long term solution unless you want to do this again in a few months.

Me meither. I don't think there are any free hosts! Is there anything in the database that you can copy into, say, another database (smaller one) and host two databases and then somehow link the data in between the two?

Kind Regards!

How much do you currently pay for your hosting?

If you have a site w/10k members it should generate enough income to more than pay for hosting fees. Interested in selling it?
