Hi there, i have an Access database with text field (Category) in a table "tblSuppliers". In the text field cell I have either the word "Trade" or "Retail".

This table and field is searched by a web site. Can I have the two text words
in the one field, so that when the search engine looks thorugh the database,
if you have both words it calls your details for both quires, Trade and Retail.

Text fields that have only one word, Eg: Trade, will not be found by people seareching for Retail.

Something like this probably? (Trade), (Retail).

Yes it's your handling of the data that counts.

really it would be better to "normalise" the data, so instead of having words in the field you have an ID number and a look up table.

so for instance
1 = Trade;
2 = Retail;
3 = Both;

then select on the numbers
