Would anyone be able to recommend some good portal software - or would designing a portal from scratch be a better alternative ?

I'm looking to create an online community portal, however it will have alot of features, and I want each user to have their own "hub" of information that they can post in their profile. Such as a photo of themselves, their interests, achievements, fields they can submit the proof of their achievements.

I would also like to have it, that the information they load up in their "hub" will show in their avatar like verified placing.

I want to have a gallery of images in certain categories that users can submit photos and video to.
I also want them to be able to upload their placing and details regarding that placing and allow users to search the database by criteria such as male, female, disabled etc.

There are lots of things I want it to do - would anyone kindly point me in the right direction ?

I'd also loved to find some skilled workers and am willing to pay for the work.

have a look at the community scripts listed here - http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Script...ies/index.html - most of the commercial developers should be able to help with custom mods etc

if you can't find a suitable base for your project then you will have to go custom

Thanks for the link. Do you think size will matter, as I have heard phpbb is not so good for large traffic and user sites.
I am aiming for atleast 5 - 7.5K a week unique visitors that I had with my previous site.
