i usually use asp and ms access when i create websites but i am wanting to use my-sql and php but i am having a bit of trouble getting my head around what is required.

I know i download my-sql but what else do i need. can it be run using IIS on my pc.

are there any tutorials anywhere which will help me get started.

yeah you can run it on IIS on pc, either from CMD or by using phpmyadmin (i prefer Phpmyadmin) just extract into root, and name the folder "phpmyadmin" just incase it has version numbers after it, you'l also need PhP, i have mine on C:\ with php you will have to edit a couple of files and copy a few elsewhere, in system32 and in C:\WINDOWS..
