I have a field in mysql db that i would like to convert to a date format and update to another field in that record.

By string date format is currently

00-00-0000 00:00:00

But i wish to change it to

0000-00-00 00:00:00

(year need to change pos)

You can change using STR_TO_DATE mysql function

for ex.

 
SELECT STR_TO_DATE('18-12-2006 09:20','%d-%m-%Y %H:%i');

This will return date format '2006-12-18 09:20:00'

date_format(date,'%Y %c %d')
