Hello I am new to the database world and currently have a client who wants a directory for members on his site. This site is going to be a casting site for his movies and he wants members to be able to create a screen name and password then create their own profile with a headshot. Then he wants the ability to log in as an administrator and search through the actors by age, sex, location, etc to find people for roles. This looked easy to use and looked to work flawlessly with dreamweaver.

Does anyone know of any other similar products that may work better, or know of someone who would be willing to build me this database (paid of course), help is appreciated....

Whether it works in Dreamweaver or not is beside the point.

A database has to "live" somewhere, and to integrate with a web site, it has to be accessible by the web server. So if your client is using GoDaddy or 1and1 or another hosting company, it's likely the web server is set up to run MySql and PHP. It's also possible you're hosting under Windows, in which case you'd have a SQL Server database an ASP/ASP.NET as a programming environment.

It's really a question of what the server will support. Community Server is an option under Windows, and there are a lot of wiki platforms you might be able to use under different platforms.
