Hello everyone! I just added a subdomain in cPanel and now I wonder how to add MySQL databases to it. I'd also like to add a phpMyAdmin login to that account. How do I do that?

Thanks!

Without getting too in depth you don't have to attach the database to your domain, you simply create a new database using cPanel's mysql tool and you can then access that database from any script on your server.

Ok, thanks, so I can't let the subdomain's user create a new database? And there's no way to make the subdomain's user be able to log in to phpMyAdmin, right?

Ah, I see what you want to do. Are you reselling or are you just giving some space to a friend?

If your reselling, you should probably talk to your host about a reseller account. This would give your users the ability to login to their own cPanel instance. If your giving some space to a trusted friend, just give them access to your cPanel.

Yeah, I just sponsor a website and give them some space. But I know some people who have a subdomain don't have a cpanel, but they are able to log in to phpMyAdmin...

Hi,

If you don't want to give CPANEL account to your friends.

You just create a new database with allowed any accessible hosts for this database user. You can let your friends to access to database via any tools or even remote phpmyadmin.

that will work if you host allows remote DB access, if not, then install another instance of PHPMyAdmin in the sub directory your subdomain is using and configure that to allow access the my mysql database you want and give them the url and login details for that
