Hi there,

Im trying to get a product query database running on a new site.
It has worked fine for years on our old site after being installed by the people who created it.

I'm quite new to this so struggling to understand exactly what I have to do.

I was reccomended to create a dump file of the database (which I have done)
the file is attached.

When I run this from the SQL query window, it creates a database with 2 tables, products and the postage but when I view the site, http://www.adrotation.co.uk/welded.php there are no vehicles listed in the dropdowns...

Any ideas on if this is the right proceedure to go with in geting the site up and running?

The dump file looks correctly formatted.
I see only 1 possibility, the db structure have changed with time, or the script which does the select, and the query don't return any more products.

I truly don't see any other technical reason...

Being that the vehicles do show up here...https://www.autorack.co.uk/van_roof_racks.php. This tells me that there is a logic error in your page (since the values are clearly in your database). If you can read and understand the code I would suggest that you look at the code on that page and compare it the one I linked too. You may see the difference and be able to fix it. Otherwise, if your up to it you can always post the code for both pages here.

Did you get this working?
I noticed when you click the Reload link, then the drop downs get populated.

ps, why does it go to a secured page? - not a good situation there

started to get things going. Ive updated to the latest versions of the pages which has placed the vehicles in the lists. The secure thing is something I'll sort later. this is still on my test server so no where near ready to go yet!

Still having problems though... only half of teh results are showing when you search for a vehicle... it displaying all the default items that appear on all pages.

I've got the "buy" buttons to appear in http://www.adrotation.co.uk/van_accessories.php but they dont bring back anything in the basket?

Im getting this error at the bottom of PHPMyAdmin.

The mbstring PHP extension was not found and you seem to be using a multibyte charset. Without the mbstring extension phpMyAdmin is unable to split strings correctly and it may result in unexpected results.

Could this be why I'm not seeing the correct results and the baskets always empty?

No, installed mbstring to cure that error and the basket still behaves the same...
