I have a dating site, and I need 3 completely different member areas for this one site. My guess is that I needed to create a different MySQL DB for each. So I did.

The catch is my hosting site gave me one site management area, and I only have access to the original DB for modification.

Nope, You only need the one DB.

Just give your tables a different prefix for each site.

Ok I was reading up on how to add a prefix, and I want to make sure I don't srew up the original DB, by modifying the prefix. I'm also not sure if I can modify each DB's setting in the admin area after I modify the prefixes. Do you have experience w/ that.
I'm making the DB's in cPanel, and modifying the content that is displayed to the members in my site admin GUI. So far I can only modify one DB in the admin GUI.

No ... one database can have thousands of tables. If you want a table for, I don't know, male users and one for females, you would just create either two tables and put new members in one or the other, or add a column to your table to distinguish them, and then use queries to pull out whatever specific information you want.
