Whichever you think is better for your website. As an example I have 2 websites go4expert.com and shabbir.in and one of them (go4expert) is redirected to www version and the other one is redirected to the non-www version.

Well, whichever you find suitable......but it is recommended to redirect one to another using only 301 redirect.

Agreed. I've added a short tutorial on my site about using the .htaccess file to redirect the non-www address to the www addres and vice versa:
