It's a nifty little Excel spreadsheet that lets your track how your various keywords rank in Google.

It does not require a Google API key - as it parses search results directly. Due to the method it uses - it can sometimes be off by a position or two - but is generally accurate.

Whether it's 100% compliant with Google's terms of service may be somewhat subjective. All searches are manually triggered - so the prospects of getting banned for automated queries is low (I've never had a problem).

No catches (no spyware / adware) - totally free. We weren't making any real money off it - so figured we'd share (and maybe get a little ad revenue from the site).

Automated queries


Google's Terms of Service do not allow the sending of automated queries of any sort to our system without express permission in advance from Google. Sending automated queries absorbs resources and includes using any software (such as WebPosition Gold™) to send automated queries to Google to determine how a website or webpage ranks in Google search results for various queries.

It probably went freeware because it's not worth paying for.


It's also not at all subjective - this is clearly in violation of Google's terms of service. Believing different is an exercise in dishonesty and deception. It's as subjective as the fact that a moderator removed your link drop.

why spend money just for this "free keyword rank monitoring software" where it can be done manually? Checking the rank of your keyword is not that hard to do but it takes a lot of time depending on how many keywords you got though.
