You may also note that pinging to get listed might potentially work for blogs, but it wouldn't for standard sites. I'm not sure if Google would list someone that quickly or not if it was a brand new blog, but they certainly wouldn't for your regular site

Now, isn't that quite a complement from whym? ^_^

In my experience, I get to indexed in Google fast just right after I made a blog and even have a good rank in SERP. I did some of those things of 5 steps to get indexed but I notice that its just temporary. It really takes time to get the better result.

Setting up a link farm is how you want to get listed in Google???

Why do you need to be listed within 24 hours? Do you really have content people will want to see that fast after making your domain name go live?

By posting something you didn't write and not giving credit where due, one implies they've written the article.

Say if we submit the site to the social bookmarking site (like Digg), then definitely it could get listed in a 24 hrs or so.

Well, submitting rss feeds to RSS submission directories and also submitting pages to social bookmarking sites may help you to get listed earlier on google...
