How (without all the in and out) do you get your site listed for free as quickly as possible - do you have to wait like 6 months? Is there any other way?

Any help with this one would be much appreciated.

Regards

Add your site at...

www.google.com/addurl

Your site should get crawled within a few days or a week

Well it does say...

Quote:
We add and update new sites to our index each time we crawl the web, and we invite you to submit your URL here. We do not add all submitted URLs to our index, and we cannot make any predictions or guarantees about when or if they will appear.
But they update regually and my site was added within a few days..

Its free to add your site but they charge for their sponsored links and for adding sites to AdSense, and the reason the prices seem high is because Traffic makes money if you have something to sell and then it wouldn't be expensive...

And the reason Google can do it so fast is because they have the technology and the best search engine on the net

More about Google...

The time varies.

If you integrate google adsense ads on your site it would deff. speed up the process - I don't know what type of site you own though.

I (and many others) don't think submission to the addurl at Google will do anything. You'll get indexed much quicker just by putting a link to your site in a forum like this one.

I agree that Google would find your link and index your site... But I think its best to Add directly to Google...Also they do say they may not index all sites submitted through Addurl

ok, but I don't get why you would think it's best to submit to Google directly. One link in a forum will get you crawled quicker than a submission.

Plus, if you submit to Google and don't have any other links pointing to your site they will stop crawling your site and drop it from the index.

adding to google is free... why not try it?
there are about 20 SEs that accept free submissions, plus a lot of directories. adding in all of them and trying to get a link to your site on sites that are indexed ofetn like forums, plus using meta tags (which don't count much or at all - depending on SE) ... well ... a lot of free stuff with little effect ... but all together should make you reach your goal ... it's just a matter of how much time you are ready to put into it.

hope it helps... c ya.

The fastest time I've gotten google to index a page within a new website is about two days.

I suspect its because I've been posting to forums.

I don't think I've ever managed to get Google to crawl through an entire site in less than a month.

I'm guessing Google simply has a policy to crawl through only a percentage of a site at a time.

To get a web site search engine effecitve, you need to wait and you need links.

some SEs take your website off the to-be-indexed list if it has been submited to often. usually websites should be submitted for indexing about once a month.

No, no, no. There is absolutely no point in submitting to a search engine at all, much less submitting once a month.

Get links to your site and don't worry about submitting to the SE's. It's a waste of time.

I seen spiders on my site, the same day I've submitted. I would still submit, but also do other things...get links for similar sites.

creating external links as internal links on your website definatly means google will update all of your site properly everytime.

google/addurl doesn't work well thesedays for time wise for some reason, so you have to push google to get things done through jumping the queue.....

i.e. put your address everywhere and anywhere!!!!

http://www.edinburghcameras.co.uk/acatalog/

and perhaps it might pick it up/
