My PR dropped from 6 to 5...ouch.

You're in good company, scanning forums and blogs over the past couple of days, lots of sites dropped PR. Think yourself lucky YouTube dropped from PR8 to PR3.

And I dropped from PR4 to PR3, but how important is PR anyway, its the content and traffic thats more important to me.

As Alan said, if you're still getting similar numbers of visitors and clickthroughs etc., then you shouldn't be bothered.

google has deleted some of the backlinks because of paid link algo. change for every web site.

i dont sell or buy links but mine has dropped too from 6 to 5.

Well...youtube still has PR-8. And its true that traffic and Ranking is more important than PR...

I agree traffic and ranking is more important, so what barring does PR really have on the SERP's?

I would wager that the PR of the page being ranked has a certain weight but not much. But then you've also got the PR^anchor text (where ^ is some funky function) of inbound links which will also be worth something. And of course the PR in both of those factors is invisible to mere mortals, and the weight they give is unknown. I wouldn't worry about any kind of PR, visible or otherwise. Is the short answer
