Morning all,

Im having problems with the PR given by google, it seems to happen when I update wordpress (including the index.php) it just resets to 0. Ive tried my hardest over the last few months to keep it at 3 or 4 but this keeps happening, is there a way to restore this problem or do I just have to live with it?

PR shouldn't reset when you update you page. But even so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Have a look at the link below, it explains why PR is not important.

I know that it isnt really important for most things, but due to what I do on the site, as soon as they reset it (and alot of other PPP users) I am badly hindered on my money making posts.

Gone from making $200 a day to $50 in a instant... its annoying.

Oh well, they will be scrapping the PR side of it soon, which is nice, google have screwed over alot of blog for cash users for a second time

The Toolbar PR is not how Google rank your website. Are you sure your talking about PageRank and not something else? I really doubt your PR is "reset" when you make a page change!

lol do you think ur pr being zero might have somthing to do with u going on about blogging for money on ur blog ?

I agree with hamesy, such changes on a page isn't really a basis for a PR to be change also. I think its another case of a PR glitch which really happens and currently experiencing by most sites.

If that was the case then why would it have gone up over the last 4 months when I started blogging for money

From what I've seen, they are just looking to change the PR system and the Adscense system due to fraud etc (dont ask me how, Ive just seen it on the net).

Im not claiming I know anything offically, I know what PR is and how it works, if I am being punished for doing something wrong on the site then its my own fault, if its a glitch then ok I can live with that, if they are scrapping it all to stop people getting ripped off and people ripping off adsense (dont know how the two go together - YES Im simple I know).

Along with the 1000's of other sites and blogs who post for money yet a number of ones still sit at PR6, and they are pushing services which dont work onto people, yes I blog for money alot in my blog, but not all the time. If you believe thats wrong then fair do's, the fact of the matter is that the extra income from the articals I write helps pay the bills

Unless the Google bot crawled your website at the same time you update your page, your PR will not drop. And even if the bot was on there, your PR will not drop from whatever it was to 0. PR is based on several factors and unless they all change at the same time, its not going to drop.

What is important is that your site is targeting its audience and you convert that into money or what ever your aim is.

Once again PR is not important. There are thousands of successful websites who have a lower PR, but yet there are also thousands of unsuccessful websites who have a high PR.

I know where your comming from, before I found out how to make money (good money) I didnt care about alexa ranking, Google PR or anything like that, I was just happy that 100-200 people went to my site to read my random posts.

To this day I have no idea how these people found my site, 2 weeks after I bought the domain it went from 3 hits to 80 then went up and up and up, all good.

Sorry for wasting your time on this point, just confused about how and why it was 0'd, just makes it harder for me to make money lol, penny pincher, I know
