Ok I am new to this company and we have submitted out url to google. And the rumor is, that if you submit the same url twice than you will be banned or something along those lines.
Could someone please give me some clarification on this issue?

Thank you

You won't get banned, but you won't get indexed any faster...if everyone who submitted twice, got banned, I would submit every site on the internet...twice

They do Say that you should only submit your site once a month...Although Once its been submitted there should be no need to again..

If you submitted your site too many times.. I suppose they might block you

been testing that with google.... i think if you submit it too ofetn (like more in one month) it is just pulled down on the waiting list of sites that need to be indexed ...

so in my personal opinion submitting it too much just makes it being indexed harder

Sometimes it takes time for your site to be indexed..

So you shouldn't expect it to appear straight away..

Give it time

lol good one AfterHim.com

Just submit once a two weeks till you see that your site is listed. Then stop. The rest will be on your meta tags, robots.txt, info, txt and keywords to reach certain ranking : )

I submitted my clients sites just once. And it gets listed in 4 days. so a two week space is good.

well i also suggest submitting it to directories if your site belongs to a certain cathegory also try submitting to several SEs ... because they don't all use the same way to index and cathegorise a website. some use meta tags, some info.txt some just take part of the index as description... so the more the better i would say.

@Omega_tux

When you ask what is this asp, are you talking about maximum asp? I'm not even sure what a cloaking script is. They had hired some indian guys to make us our site, and honestly they did a horrible job. Not worth the money at all. Not even a keyword meta tag, and thats rookie stuff.

It's funny, my co-worker did not want me to put our url onto this forum cause he's worried we might get hacked. Well if we do than now we know that we need to change some things.

There's no point in submitting to google via the submission url. Just get links on other sites that point to yours and you'll get indexed much quicker.

Honestly, I doubt that anyone reads those site submits at Google - Google finds sites by crawling and one Google spokesman implied a couple of months back in an interview that googlebot can find sites even without backlinks, although how he didn't say.

I have never seen any evidence that you will be penalized for re-submitting. I'm not sure it helps at all either, mind you. I think all those probably get filed in the round metal inbox next to googlebot's desk - it's googlebot's version of a placebo to keep people calm until he gets there
