1st- or 2d-page Google results after two days, what do I do now?

I recently launched a new site that after two days, with a fairly common two-word search string (three Google referrals so far since whenever it was listed), is on either the first or second page of Google results (first page results are on Google.co.th [edit: had .tk here originally] and second page results are Google.com).
I kind of started it as a spammy website, and it has no real useful content (basically stuff that I just wrote that's not helpful at all). My question is, does anyone know wth I can do now to make my site more useful to people, at least so they stay long enough to click an ad? Should I write my own essay based on Wikipedia articles, etc? Has anyone been in this situation before?
Thanks so much. I feel like the domain should pay for itself after no more than a few months with minimal effort, but so far Adsense = $0.

Yes, content matters, view your own site from a visitors stand point, what am I expecting from the site ? think a long that line and build content to fill those gaps, sooner or later, you will be able to get decent traffic from search engines and returning visitors.
Good luck.

Well, I used a template to make my site look as attractive as I can (much better than the quick thing I hacked together in about an hour, including the Java program to mangle a Wikipedia article), and I hope that will help a bit with making referrals stay for a moment. Now I just have to write like two more pages of content.

Well........its good to be listed on first or 2nd page of google results but it will be useless if you have not useful or relevant content ...........it may great chance of dropping your ranking soon..........if you want to maintain or improve your ranking you must work on building some relevant, origional and useful content and then then work on building some quality backlinks for youe site............

I would keep and eye on the serps. Google has a habit of ranking new pages high in the first couple of days and then dropping them.

Still second page for "taro cards," which is what I was going for, I guess. :-)
I do try to provide some useful content on the site, though. We shall see.

That's great. Just check the number of unique visitors to your site. If it is more, then stuff your site good niche, then place the adsense code perfectly camouflaged with the niche, i.e. blending and try to improve the traffic. Expect dollars trickling down to your adsense account

I think you should know what your site is going to be able before you write any code at all, and then have a decent amount of content before you launch your site.
You should have your site be about something you're really interested in and know a lot about or are willing to learn a lot about. You can do a lot of research on what you want your site to be about and then combine all that knowledge and write it in your own words in a way that you think would be the easiest to understand and the most interesting or entertaining to read.
For example: I've read tons related to the things I'm most interested in, and I've realized better and more fun ways to teach it to someone else. Especially when I just learned it, because I will realize the hardest parts to understand, and then know how to write something better(yes I know perspectives vary but..).
If the content of your site isn't selling a service, product, or membership to images, videos or games, then it can't be mostly about making a little money, or a lot of money. If your site's content is something to read then you will have to be interested in what the site is about to hope to write the quantity and quality of information that will get very many visitors.
It doesn't matter how nice a site looks if it doesn't have content people are interested in.
