Buying or selling links which pass page rank is violation of webmaster guidelines but how can I come to know that a paid link to my site give me traffic but not passing pagerank?


Please guide me.

Check that there is a rel="nofollow" attribute on the link.

What Hirst said. There's no conclusive way to know, nor should there be. If you're paying for a link, you're paying for an ad. Treat it as such, and any SEO benefit (actual or perceived) will be a bonus.

The paid links too come with do follow links. But google has some algo that will identify the paid links. It alerts its users to report those who are actually using the paid links. This has resulted in the slump in the paid link business but it is not completely out. Still you can find "link for sales" ad in major forums
