I was just checking my links listed in google and i'm seeing a lot of activity. I used to have 850 links earlier today listed for ewebdevelopment and now 1,370 is showing up. Usually when I see a spike this drastic a PR update is coming soon. Strange though, google just did it's dance a week or two ago. hmmm

Anyone notice any activity ?

I just checked my backlinks for several of my sites on about 10 different datacenters. No change for me.

Where did you check your backlinks? Did you just type link:http://www.yoursite.com on Google or did you use a webtool, etc...

Let me know.

I'm not talking about backlinks, i'm speaking generally when you type in "ewebdevelopment".

My links for my company name jumped about 570 - such a high number like that usually occurs before a update. BUT, i checked google now and my links are back at 847. I guess the data centers are not updated yet. Because I changed my website title earlier today and when it said i had 1347 links, it had my updated title. Now wheni search it simply has my old title. Not sure what's going on, i'll keep ya updated.

Google PR and Backlink updates (like the one that happened 14 days ago) are signaled by changes in the number of backlinks indexed for your site or actual PR toolbar readings. They are not signaled by changes in search position (no matter how drastic).

Google updates changes to title tags, search position, number of indexed sites per search, etc...on a daily basis.

Google "Updates" and changes in search results are two completely different things.

I understand that. But from past experiences when it jumped by that many links, it usually means a update is coming...

I just checked all the data centers and they're all showing the same info now - my old info. No clue how i saw what i did before. Should have take a screen shot. I'm stumped on this one.

The data center URL showing my link jump for my keyword ewebdevelopment is http://66.102.9.99

My backlinks have remained the same. Most data centers are still showing my old information so maybe a update is still on it's way?

According to info I've seen on other forums from those who track this on a very regular basis, the Google updates usually occur every 2-5 weeks. As stated on this thread, it has been approx. 14 days so far. When will it be exactly?

Still waiting to see...

Right! This time, you search your site domain, the results will change at different data center, buy your backlinks do not change.

There have been a number of posts on other site forums stating "deep crawling" and increased # of visits by Google very recently (e.g. last 2-3 days). General thought seems to be Backlink/PR update around Sun-Tues.

Of course, (*insert disclaimer here*) as stated earlier in this thread, no one knows absolutely except those within Google and they're not talking!
