My links number also dropped during last update, but reason is that i have problem with my webhost. I think Google started indexing dynamic links better than before.

Yes G updated few days back ...

my site pages got jump in the indexed pages from 1k to 10 k

and backlinks from 0 to 2650 ... this update was good for me ..

I'm not seeing any difference in back-link numbers.

I also noticed the huge increase of backlinks. It is possible especially if we are building links continuously.
