well, i am seeing it, just not as much as id like to. the site im working on is GetTipsy.com - based off an easysitenetworks template - ive been building this for a few months - and it is indexed in google pretty well (number one for the search term: get tipsy) and shows up in a slew of other searches directly relating to the content of the site (mixed drinks) - however i figured w/ this many pages, it would be jumping a lot more then it is by now.

the only think i can think of that may be hurting me is the session id's, but i dont forsee that as a major problem. the site is nearly all text based, so that should be helping me out - anyone else have any suggestions?

hehe first of all, Google only has 700+ of your pages. because most of them are dynamic, Google is cautious about them. check this out:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...3Agettipsy.com
this is all your pages Google knows.

well i guess thats a start - i mean, drinks are being added daily, and i know there is no way google can keep up w/ such activity on a daily basis - im just hoping that over the next few months as the site grows, so does the inbound traffic from google

Mike,

How much research have you done on keywords related to your Web site? You say your getting good rankings for "get tipsy" but how many people are actually searching for that. I'm guessing not many and if they are it's probably for other reasons than finding a site about mixed drinks.

Without doing research on your site, I'm guessing your not ranking very well for the terms that users are searching with to find a site such as yours.

Try optimizing a few pages of your site for some popular keywords related to the corresponding pages and see how you do.

You should check out word tracker and similar products.

There are alot of systems that track keywords, you can find similar keywords and or more keywords common keywords.

If your site comes up first on Google and you are just not getting many visitors, That probably means there isn't alot of searches for that keyword.

Try new keywords.

Try banner exchanges.

Try offering something like free email. You can get free email hosting service at http://www.everyone.net.
If people can get free email youname@gettipsy.com you will have visitors that return once a week or more to check email.

Offer a forum like this one, but for drinks.

Offer a chat room.

Offer a drinking game like P&A, BULLSh*t, Quarters.

Offer contests.

Accept drink recipe suggestions.

Post in forums. F word forums and C word forums the people that go to those places have alot of time on there hand.

Post some pickup lines and jokes.
Stuff like. Is that a keg in your pants, cuz I'd sure like to tap that *ss.

Hope this helps.

Mike,

Even I have found that getting the linking from within site does not happen in totality.

I am looking & experimenting for some thing which would convert my indexed page into to linking.

Lot of methods I have tried but of no use.And waiting for the Google dance for moths togather is killing.

Geting within site linking is an imporant issue which will benifit to great extent .This needs more discussion

You should think about using apache mod rewrite to make your pages look static. This helped a lot when it comes to my pages showing up in Google.

look at the keywords that people are coming to your site on, and find where you rank on google for these keywords

if you rank #10 and you're getting traffic on it, then obviously people are skipping over 9 results, so you really deserve to rank higher, and you know there are people searching on this term - put in time + effort to get ranked higher on it
