My website, VancouverArtShow.ca, has 288 pages indexed, all of them full of relevant images and content, and it has over 100 inbound links. It has a page rank of 3, and Google has no problems crawling it. It is over a year old, and yet it doesn't appear in search results at all, for any search words whatsoever.
Every few months it appears right on page 1 or 2 of the results for "Vancouver Art" or similar search phrases, and then a day or two later it disappears completely again.
I've been following Google's guidelines and concentrating on content and SEO for a year now, to no avail. Something else must be keeping me out of the search results. It has been suggested that the site has DNS problems, but how can I check that out, and if it is the problem, how can I fix it? If not, what else could it be?

I also having this problem. My one of site was indexed and was pointed on second search result point. But for that certain keyword it is not indexing now.

Traffic is definitely down. I am currently averaging about 90 visitors a day, but not a single one comes from a google search. People are reaching the site from other sources, which is a testament to the relevance of the site's content, but it would certainly be much higher if my fully indexed and cached content it wasn't somehow disconnected from Google's search results.

At Google.Ca you are #1 for Vancouver Art Show so you are coming up in search results.. Are you trying to rank in Google.Com instead of Google.Ca??

You also have a www vs non-www version issue with both showing.. Have you signed up for Google webmaster tools and told them which version they should be counting??
