Has anyone else noticed the add-on for the SEOQuake Firefox plugin? It's called AdSpy and it basically collects the AdSense publisher IDs into a database and then matches them to identical IDs on other sites. If you pay them, you can then get a report listing what other sites share that AdSense ID.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm not sure how comfortable I am with that whole idea. I don't have anything to hide, but I don't really like the idea of someone charging money so other people can see what sites I publish ads on, all without my permission or knowledge. At the very least, I think it should be an opt-in or revenue sharing model.

Any thoughts?

I stopped using SEOQuake a while back.. I blamed it for tripping the Google "you are a bot" filter while doing searches.. At least I haven't seen that message since I removed it..

Like everyone else, I removed the SeoQuake extension. It slowed down my browsing too much. It wants to check every link on the page for nofollow, etc, and FireFox stops being able to respond during the whole process.

Legally, there's nothing surprising about this, and I'm sure they'll say you opt in by way of putting your PubID in your page code. My guess is you would be able to make the same database using a simple web crawler, knocking the data into something like the public domain?
