We used to have 80 odd Pages with external links on the home page. Now
the home page doesn't even appear in there and my page rank has
dropped to 0.


Anyone else had this happen and any ideas whats happened?

The site appears to be indexed. Where were the links coming from. My first guess is they weren't links Google wanted to trust and so stopped counting them for anything.

Well looking at my analytics there are still links there and active.

Hi Gavin ... have much the same problem. At roughly two week intervals, since March, google has expired all but 5 of my back links. Site went from 11,000+ to 5 back links. Even the main page isn't back linked, anymore, and last Monday it had almost 3,000 back links. Built links, over time, from a fairly wide variety of directories, forums, websites; at a fair pace and not all at once.

I'm hoping this a glitch that'll reverse, in time?

If not, why care about yet another pointless metric?

sit there and wait maybe something will happen! XD

same thing happens with some of my sites. it always fluctuates but alot of them end up coming back after google drops the link. its the internet, its constantly changing. I wouldn't worry about it unless your traffic is changing significantly.

Page views and traffic down by about 36% I still not had anything back, so I've been adding us to directories to build backlinks.

Hi ... my concern was the dramatic drop in links: 131 pages, with 11,300+ links, to 4 pages, with 5 links.

This obviously applies to Gavin_J as well
