Alright--one thing at a time:
First off, your page will be reindexed by their spider quite frequently most of the time, but if you find that it's not being updated, it may be in your best interest to resubmit your website. Just make sure not to submit more than once a month, or you could get blocked for spamming.
Second, you can find your site's PR by using Google's toolbar. It's available through Google's website, and you can turn on a PageRank feature that shows you the PR of every site you go to (this one's is a 7... not too bad!).
A PageRank is actually just a rank from 0 to 10 of how relevant your website is. It is compiled from a very nice algorithm based on how many websites with content related to your own link to you, in proportion to a ton of other criteria, including how many pages are on your site, how many internal links you have, and how many external links you have. The jist of it is, the more pages that link to you, the higher your PageRank. Of course, in the real world, it's always going to be more complicated than that, but it's a general rule-of-thumb to go by. Get sites to link to you, and your rank will go up.
