OK, I gotta ask, How do you convince people to link to you when you just started your website and really have nothing to offer, I have 2 websites and emailed a bunch of people that I would like to link to them and never received 1 answer back, I suppose they looked and seen they would have been the first and declined. I don't know.

Write articles that other would WANT TO link to. I certainly wouldn't link to some next website that emailed me, and I'm sure others would feel the same. But if there is a wonderful piece of information on your website, that I just can't go without using, I'd reference it and link to you.

If you start a website and you haven´t good content nobody will link you.
Build your content and you will see if it will be good people start link to your site.
But it took time months and years to build enough good content...

Yes, content will be the basis to your chances of linking with other sites. Sorry but it doesn't happen overnight. Build your content to fill out the gaps, and as you go along try emailing them again, you might snag some offers.

I m also suffering same problem as Motavator. As advised in here i have good content, not copied from others site. E mailed Bunch of people for Link Exchange and No one is Interested to Link back to me. Will any one Help me Out from the problem ?

It depends on how your word of request! the best way to attract quality relevant inbound links is to write something that people will find useful. Write killer content that people want to link to, optimize the content and the page it is on to the best of your ability.
If your content is good enough, it will be popular and visitors will also grow.

maybe most of the receiver just deleted your email, try to compose a letter that will attract them to link with you.

Content is everyting. If you write great content on your sites then people will be more inclined to link to you

There are plenty of ways to build links on your own, such as social bookmarking, blog commenting, directory submission, and article writing. You can also buy links straight from others, do link exchanges, or three-way link exchanges. Lots of options!

If its just a new website, try to gain links in different ways: deep link submissions (best for internal pages), blogging, article submissions, forum posting, blog commenting, etc. One you get "authority" by having high PR, THEY (not you!) will be the one who will link to you.

A new website without much content elicits poor response for link development. Develop and enrich it with original contents so that others would voluntarily link it to their site and you need not request for link exchange
