I know the traditional way link building methods like article submission, directory submission, PR, Link exchanges etc.

But I recently receive lot of requests for links in page content. Will it be next method of link building? Please advice me whether I can do with this kind of link exchanges

I have not thought of asking for this. That sounds like it would be a stronger link than the standard backlink from a blog. You should test it out and get back to everyone.

Strategy always come from testing phase..so you can test it out if it does work..

why don't you try it? and post gain here if it's work or not...

If content is related then yes it would become a well-weighted link. You can almost think of it like a very large anchor text. If your link shows up in a paragraph of content that is related to the website the link goes to, then Google will view this as valuable. However most people are not going to put your link in their content.

How exactly would he test the strength or weight of this type of link relative to a different type?

My question too. Though it is sure that the link has weight, the terms for measuring is ambiguous. I have a couple of incoming links coming from blogs who quoted me within their posts and they are indeed helpful. Though I'm not exactly sure how different that is with other forms of link building.

Is it worth the time and effort?

What's the measurement of Quality according to Google, Yahoo, MSN?

If you're talking about the little green bar PR, that's a little bit like getting a Galactic Admiral pin...it looks cool, but it doesn't necessarily mean you're in charge of the fleet.

You can always give a link from your page provided the niche is similar and the contents are unique.

Any body would think from reading half the posts in this thread that linking to pages in the text of a page was something new!!!

You've completely ignored the question, which is how do you measure the quality of the link? You can't say one link has more or less quality than the other until you've measured both, and compared their measurements. So how do you measure quality? What's the formula?

If theme is relevant then content link or any other form of link like from article,directory or blog ,is beneficial for your site.

I think that it will work out if both of you are relevant, then it is beneficial to both of you!

Yes heard recently about this methods....Links with in the content....so let us see if a new chapter is started in link building strategies...
