Hi,

I recently bought a domain name which I linked to my older (already owned) ftp server. But in google the site doesn't index at all! Is there any way i can check if the domain is blacklisted? It does show up in Yahoo.. But even if i typ in the full URL google doesn't find anything..

Is there anything i can do about this? Maybe to show google I am a new owner to the domain name and i haven't done anything wrong (so far, i think ).

I hope you guys can help me!

Did you add the domain to google? Sometimes it can take up to a month before it starts showing in google...

Just check back in a month. I'm sure it's going to be there.

You don't add domains to Google, they find them on their own throw following links.. To see if your site is banned or in the index simply type in

site:http://www.domain.com and see what Google actually sees.. If it shows up you are not banned.. If it does not show up you might still not be banned..

There is no way that I know or heard of to check if a website is banned.

As showing Google you are a new owner, they won't care. Really. Think how many times this happens in the world a day.

Wait a couple of months and check again.

Well I'm afraid that while ago is already a couple of months.. and when i search for the full url of my site or put site: in front of it google still doesn't find anything. And then again Yahoo does find me.. Is there anything i can do?

The site: command doesn't work very well.

PM your url and I'll have a look at it. I can't promise anything but I'll try to help you figure out what's going on.

It is very rare for them to blacklist a URL, typically the issue is just that your website has not yet been indexed, give it time to work itself out.

Check on google webmaster tools there you can check if it is banned probably it only hasnt been indexed

Give some time for your domain to get listed in google.
Also check with google webmaster tools

I actually did, i added my url aswel and i activated the bot the search my site, but still nothing..

oh... don't pressure your self. Stay calm everything will be under control...

i think your domain is not blacklisted. i think bots cannot see your site. try to promote your site. you could do directory submission, forum posting (with signature) and social bookmarking. Within a week im sure it will get indexed.

I agree with Annescoffield Do more promotion activities like Directory, Articles, SMO, Classified Ads and other...

And have some patience your site will be back on same and improved track...

first check your site is there in google index by site:www.domain.com, if its there than it will come up soon. And if the site is not there than it might create a problem.

Than i might have a problem

1: Have you checked the "wayback machine"?

2: Have you done a site: search

3: What do you mean by "I linked to my older (already owned) ftp server."

4: Is the "new" name redirected? or is it aliased?
