Hi,

Just had a thought today, on my site http://xdnet.co.uk i have a basic quote rotate script, and just wondered would this be positive index/ranking wise because if google visits it see different content ?

Just a thought.

lol i dont really care about my ranking overly so far all my business has come from face to face or direct contact,

Was just wondering thing lol.

Im just not sure why it wouldnt count that all, as far as i understand if you have changing content it ranks higher... or is it just more content (quality)

I don't think there's much truth to that, if there's any at all. Different content will have different words, and so you'll come up for different queries. But I don't think the sheer fact of it having changed within N number of days, will buy you a better ranking, in and of itself.

That said, let's pretend you have 10 quotes in your rotator script. Let's say it shows a different one every day. And that Google Bot visits you every day. After 11 visits, it stops being new in any sense of the word - you're just moving stuff around your site. And then, if you're quoting Oliver Cromwell, they've probably found that same quote once or twice before on the internet.

It can still be a very cool feature, tho. I really like language, so I'm a sucker for this kind of thing. I just don't think it will help you in terms of the SERPs.

Was just a random wondering anyway, but good to know, yea i do like showing off my quotes ... i want to add more, but i would prefer for my clients to mature a bit before i do to get more accurate ones
