Google is launching an open source web browser called Chrome to compete with Internet Explorer and Firefox.

This is just the beginning -- Google Chrome is far from done. We're releasing this beta for Windows to start the broader discussion and hear from you as quickly as possible. We're hard at work building versions for Mac and Linux too, and will continue to make it even faster and more robust

It's 38 pages long and they try to make you cry at the end (fairytale ending in a perfect "we love everybody" world) but by all mean, it's pretty well done and self explanatory. Much better to read than a 15 pages long pdf document and an image is worth 1000 words.

by the way, they gave one the feature an interesting name for google:
"sandbox"

It's for security reason though, not the "is the sandbox real or not" usual from SEO "experts"

Google does everything they can to improve the web and I doubt they'd launch it if they didn't know it could compete with Firefox.

In systems programming, a sandbox is a copy of the system divorced from reality or production. Paypal has a sandbox where you can send and get fake money to test their API.

I was referring to the Google sandbox.

I know. I was saying I don't think the name is all that interesting, because it makes perfect sense in the context it was designed for. I agree it's a bit ironic, and will confuse the heck out of some "Experts", but I'm trying to provide a bit of explanation for the background of the term in programming.

I used to make sandcastles. Most of them were in the sandbox. None of them ranked very high in the SERPs.

I hadn't heard about this but I usually like what google produces. Have any of you tried it out yet? I'd like to hear about how it compares to firefox and how it's compatibility is with other programs before downloading it. Still stuck on dial up so I only do big downloads if absolutely necessary - it's too painful waiting.

Not tried yet this one but it looks good.

I really like it. Its nice and lightweight!

have been using google chrome for 2 days now and it seems quite good has not locked up on me yet . Its defenatly quite fast and has lots of features. personaly I like it and probably will continue using it until IE8 and then will have to reevaluate again

I tried it, but so far I don't like it, maybe when they add more stuff to it, Ill use it but for now im sticking with fire fox

I used Googles new Web Browser Google Chrome, and thing that it can't replace Mozilla Firefox. do you guys like it, i mean any extra thing that u noticed about it or any extra features.

There are lots of extra features like incognito window,easy new tab button,developer side features and much more. You can c the settings in the right top corner.

I like the new google chrome. I have been using it for 2 days now and it was fine and quick but i have have found that it is unable to open some websites not sure why but it just would not load them so iam back to firefox now
