hi, i have a site pretty high up in the ranking, mostly 1st under lots of search words.
i have just lately changed my domain and have my old domain re-directed to new domain.

my question is will my site drop in the ranking? if how long do you think?

Usually it drops for several weeks and then it returns, but sometimes, nothing changes, especially if you had those rankings for a long time period and without fluctuations. Good luck anyway

it will take time for google to notice the redirect but in the long run it wont change much

I can think of a few reasons, and none of them compelling enough to justify the switch except one, someone else controlled the domain name..
